He was the only person she trusted. Now, she can’t even trust herself.
Jack
After escaping from an abusive halfway house, Jack Elsie Johnson forges her own path forward as a successful model, determined to forget about the town of Harmony, Maine, her family—and the pain of knowing their betrayal almost cost her her life.
Jared Ross, her first love, isn’t so easy to forget, even though he’s the reason she ended up in the halfway house in the first place. When she meets Jared again, Jack knows it would be safer if she stayed away. She’s a lifetime away from that wild teenager he kissed one forbidden summer. How can Jack learn to trust him again when she doesn’t even trust her own mind?
Jared
He knows they screwed up. Jared Ross has lived with that reality ever since Jack’s father sent her to a glorified juvenile detention center. When Jack ran away, Jared and her brothers never stopped looking for her.
Now Jack has reappeared, a thriving international model with a new makeshift family. But something is deeply wrong with her, something that even a great career and caring friends can’t cover up. If Jared wants to earn her love, He’s going to have to confront Jack’s dark secrets, no matter how costly—or deadly—the price.
Book Reviews
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Broken isn’t forever; the sun shines new tomorrow
“I could not believe how this book blew me away. I don’t think I could actually pick a favorite character because they all were an important piece of the story. I fell in love with the Johnson’s and their lives. The author made it so real with amazing descriptions on every page. The loves scenes were sweet and passionate almost always. This book is like knowing the ins and outs of your best friend. I could actually smell all the flowers and the campfire just all of it. I could even taste the smores…YUM. I laughed, I cried,I screamed, I reminisced. There are a rare few books that I get this reaction.”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent! Deeply heartfelt!
“Excellent! Jack Elsie Johnson is a beautiful woman, inside and out, even though she’s had more than her share of tragedy. Jared Ross, a strong person, didn’t have things any easier, but fortunately was taken in as an addition to the Johnson family. These two were just meant to be! This is an exquisite story of love, betrayal, heartache and ultimate redemption. The excruciatingly tough parts of their lives only add to the depth of happiness they later experience.”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Strap in for a roller coast ride with Jack
“Two things about this book. One: If you are looking for a quick, light read — this isn’t it. Two: It’s a really great read. Jack’s story takes you through childhood, love found, love lost, tragedy, loss, darkness, lightness, and the full spectrum of human emotion. It’s a roller coaster ride. This book is very well written and was a pleasant surprise in a long list of duds I’ve been asked to review so far this year. The author captures the authenticity of family bonds, grief, mistakes (big and small) that parents make, and realities most won’t face in their lives. This is a book, I will absolutely revisit again. So well done!”
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ WOW! What a phenomenal book!
“Ok where to start? Well how should I say this……This book is simply PHENOMENAL! It is a first for me by this author and DEFINATELY won’t be the last. I loved the characters and this book flowed so fluidly that you will be at the end before you know it and begging for more. I could not get enough of these characters and am patiently waiting for the next book to come out.”
